first_imgWILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, December 1, 2018:A vehicle struck and killed a deer on Hopkins Street, near the Billerica line. (3:51am)Police notified Mass Highway there was a large pothole in the southbound lane right before the set of lights at the intersection of Main Street and Lowell Street. (8:10am)A resident reported a missing bicycle (21-speed blue Trek mountain bike) from Lawrence Street. (12:13pm)A resident from a hypodermic needle on McDonald Road. Police retrieved for proper disposal. (12:17pm)A hypodermic needle was found on the sidewalk of Hobson Avenue. Police retrieved for proper disposal. (1:03pm)A caller reported a resident was blowing leaves from yard into roadway on Shawsheen Avenue. Police responded. Leaves have been removed. (1:30pm)Police came across suspicious vehicle near the old Town Dump, possibly hunting in the woods .Male parties had tagged a doe. They had a permit for antler-less deer. (5:32pm)A 6-year-old child got separated from her mother at the Town Tree Lighting, but was eventually found at gazebo. Dan Lauwers to eliminate delays in the processing of tax credit payments for farmers who participate in Michigan’s Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program.The program, often referred to as Public Act 116, offers a partial property tax refund to people who commit to using their land for agricultural production for a number of years.“This is a beneficial program that protects our farmland and helps sustain Michigan’s food and agriculture industry,” said Rep. Lauwers, R-Brockway Township. “However, in recent years PA 116 applications and renewals have not been processed in a timely manner, which has hindered the Department of Treasury’s ability to process income tax refunds for farmers with PA 116 agreements. Some farmers have reported waiting more than a year for their tax refunds.”House Bill 5189, now Public Act 265 of 2016, streamlines the process for registering a PA 116 agreement with the state. HB 5191, now PA 267, holds the Department of Treasury accountable by applying a 3-percent annual interest rate on refunds not issued within 45 days.“This is a simple fix that will help farmers by eliminating red tape,” Rep. Lauwers said. “PA 116 applications will be processed more efficiently, which will ultimately lead to faster tax returns for farmers and greater participation in the program.”#####last_img read more

Intensified by the increasing appetite for Full HD and 4K content, the ‘bandwidth bottleneck’ has the potential to stress both managed and Over the Top Services to a level where customer experience can be adversely impacted.DRM fragmentation also continues to raise challenges for operators that deploy services across multiple devices and networks, and this is an area where goalposts are constantly changing, in terms of new security requirements from studios on UHD content, as well as ecosystem changes such as those recently made by Google to the Chrome browser.As a platform and services vendor, Oregan employs a combination of well-established technology building blocks and innovation components that tackle these issues.
